Day 1 : Delhi
Arrive in Delhi, the capital of India, meet & greet on air port on arrival and transfer to hotel. Evening trip of Gurudwara’s of Delhi like, Sisganj Gurudwara, Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, Rakabganj Gurudwara and other famous place of Delhi. Over night stay in hotel.
Day 2 : Delhi - Rishikesh
Morning after breakfast, drive to Rishikesh. Rishikesh is the gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas. The distance between the two cities is 220 kms which takes about 6 hrs. Legend has it that the sage Raibhya Rishi did severe penance and, as a reward, God appeared to him in the form of Rishikesh. Rishikesh also represents the site where Lord Vishnu vanquished the demon Madhu. The place is known as the Tapo Bhumi or the place for meditation of the Gods. Tapovan, on the other bank of the Ganges, houses a temple to Lakshmana. The city is full of temples & ashrams and has the Yoga Institute situated here. Arrive Rishikesh and check into the hotel. Afternoon visit to various famous place of Rishikesh like, Lakshman Jhula - This suspended iron bridge was built in 1939 and has been a major attraction among the tourists. It is said that Lakshman crossed Ganga on jute ropes between the places where this bridge is built. Ram Jhula- The other suspended Iron Bridge was recently constructed between Shivanand Ashram and Sawarg Ashram. Bharat Mandir - Built by Adiguru Shankra Chrya around 12th century, Bharat mandir is situated in the heart of the old town on the Banks of the Ganges. Detailed account of this oldest temple of Rishikesh is available in ancient record of Kearkhand. The Inner sanctum of the temple has the idol of Lord Vishnu, carved out of a single 'Saligram'. In the inner canopy above the idol is Shree Yantra installed by Adi Shankraya Charya.
The original temple was destroyed by Tamur lane in 1398 A.D. Lot of old statues, coins, pots and other things of historical importance were found in recent excavations in the premises of the temple. Rishikund - Close to Trivenighat is the most ancient place, the Rishikund. Ancient records relate this to Kubz Saint, who was blessed by the Goddess Yamuna by saturating this pond by its water. The pond reflects the temple of Ragunath, dedicated to Lord Rama and Goddess Sita. Nilkanth Mahadeo - Mythology says that in the ancient times when the ocean was being churned for 'amrit' (Potion for immortality), first venom oozed out. Lord Shiva drank the venom at a place, which is now called Nilkanth Mahadeo. It is 12 km from Rishikesh and is surrounded by peaceful forests. Over night stay at hotel.
Day 3 : Rishikesh - Karnaprayag - Joshimath
Morning after breakfast, drive to reach Joshimath which is the winter abode of Lord Badrinath. Lunch enroute. Joshimath (2,100 m)-Govindghat (2,000 m, 18 km)-Ghangaria (3,000 m, 12.5 km)-Valley of Flowers (3,300 m, 3.5 km). The trek begins at Govindghat, which has a forest rest house and a gurudwara. There is a small market at Ghangaria during season, and overnight accommodation is available in a tourist bungalow, a forest rest house and a gurudwara. Please note that camping within the Valley of Flowers is not permitted. Evening arrive at Joshimath and check into the hotel for dinner and over night stay.
Day 4 : Joshimath - Govindghat - Ghangria
Morning after breakfast, drive to reach Govindghat. The confluence of alaknanda and Lakshman Ganga rivers. It has an imposing Gurudwara named after Guru Gobind Singh. It is the starting point for the trek to this valley. From Gobindghat, it is 16 kms. away. Ponies can also be hired from Gobindghat After an early lunch, start trekking to reach Ghangria also called GOVIND DHAM, the base camp for Hemkund Sahib and Valley of Flowers.
Day 5 : Ghangria - Hemkund - Ghangria , Trek: 16 kms.
Morning after early breakfast, start trekking to reach Hemkund Sahib, one of the holiest pilgrimages for the Sikhs. Snow-covered peaks and mountains makes the backdrop for 'The Hemkund Lake'. It is a significant pilgrimage for both Hindus and Sikhs, as well as for people from other faiths. There is a Sikh Gurudwara and a Lakshman temple built on the bank of the lake. Surrounded by seven snow clad peaks and their associated glaciers, it reflects its surroundings enchantingly on its crystal clear serene waters. The glaciers from Hathi Parvat and Saptrishi peaks feed the lake and a small stream called Himganga flows out of this lake. In the holy Granth Sahib, Guru Govind Singh, the 10th Guru of the Sikh faith had intended on the bank of this lake in one of his earlier births. It is generally believed among Sikhs that Guru Govind Singh introduced the features now universally associated with Sikhism. On 15th April 1699, he started the new brotherhood called the Khalsa (meaning the pure, from the Persian word 'Khales') an inner core of the faithful, accepted by baptism (amrit). Return to Ghangria for over night stay in Hotel.
Day 6 : Ghangria- Govindghat - Rudraprayag
Morning after early breakfast, start return trek to Govindghat. On arrival, drive to Rudraprayag via Joshimath and Karnaprayag. On arrival, check into Tourist Bungalows for overnight stay. At the confluence of Mandikini and Alaknanda river, Rudraprayag is a Hindu Pilgrimage site.
Day 7 : Rudraprayag - Rishikesh
Morning after early breakfast, drive to return to reach Rishikesh. Lunch enroute. Named after Lord Shiva (Rudra), Rudraprayag is situated at the holy confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakani rivers, at a distance of 34 km from Srinagar (Garhwal). The presence of two separate routes for Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham from Rudraprayag render great importance to the place. The entire region is blessed with immense natural beauty, places of religious importance, lakes and glaciers. Evening arrive Rishikesh and check into hotel for over night stay.
Day 8 : Rishikesh - Delhi
Morning after early breakfast, return drive to Delhi, enroute visiting Hari-ki-pauri in Haridwar. Lunch enroute. On arrival at Delhi, check into hotel. Rest of the day free for independent activities. Over night stay at Delhi.
Day 9 : Delhi
Depart Flight: Morning at leisure. Transfer to international airport in time to board the flight for onward destination.
